World’s First Luxury Space Hotel To Open in 2027

Forget your five-star hotels – this one is going to have thousands.
The Voyager space station, which has been dubbed a ‘space hotel,’ could begin construction in 2025 and be operational in 2027.
The circular station is designed so that ‘pods’ can be attached to its perimeter and plans for these include classic hotel facilities like restaurants, a gym, a spa and a cinema – as well as accommodation for up to 400 people.

Unlike the weightlessness of the International Space Station, Voyager will rotate to generate artificial gravity roughly equivalent to that on the surface of the Moon – which should make gym sessions a lot easier.

Renderings of the cosmic hotel are futuristic, featuring individual pods that are attached to rotating, Ferris wheel-like contraption. Aboard the space hotel, guests will be able to enjoy a slew of amenities, including a cinema, a health spa, gyms, themed restaurants, libraries and concert venues. Since the hotel is expected to be in low Earth orbit, the establishment offers Earth-viewing lounges and bars and rooms that can accommodate up to 400 people. Additional necessities such as crew quarters, water, air and power systems will also take up a portion of the space facility.

The Voyager Station will reportedly circle around the globe every 90 minutes, using the artificial gravity generated by the circle’s rotation. The Daily Mail received a quote from John Blincow, founder of Gateway Foundation, which runs some of the Voyager’s pods, stating, “This will be the next industrial revolution.” He adds that the rotation aspect is “vital” since without gravity, people are not viable for space
