Specs Sheet.

The body of the DFS Trike is constructed with ACCT© (Advance Composite Construction Technology).   Materials like Kevlar, Polyester and Carbon are why this aircraft is so very durable and strong  yet surprisingly light weight!   The aerodynamic design promotes a superior gliding performance with minimum drag.

Prop Guard clearance above ground: 16" (impossible to touch down even if you come for landing in heavy turbulence with the nose very high, look picture below)

At this position on the picture below the prop guard is about 5"above ground, and there is no way to get to this angle flying! No other PPC made like that, our wheel struts pointing backwards from the side of the plane this way when your nose angle is increasing your rear increasing too preventing the guard touching the ground!

ACCT (Advance Composite Construction Technology)

Space Age Technology

The DFS Single and Dual are both made with high quality fiberglass, kevlar, carbon, and metal parts, with seamless high pressure tubing and Aircraft 4130 chromoly steel. All metal painted with Special Powder Coating, (click here to learn more about Powder Coating). All bolts and nuts are AN aircraft type. Sail made with Dacron and Mylar for the Gliders, and Special Skytex Marine Nylon with dinyma or kevlar Lines for the Paraglider/parachutes that were tested (paraglider and parachute) for extra durability and strength. All of our chutes for the DFS units have been tested according to the European certification standards for safety, DHV, ACPUL, or AFNOR! Our fiberglass/Kevlar/Carbon/Steel construction is stronger than any other trike or PPC that is on the market today. We estimated it to be 10 times stronger than aluminum made frames (with our ACCT special construction) that is more protection from any other trike or PPC out there. The DFS is mostly hand made, it takes time and effort to build this beautiful plane, but it's worth it! .

Testing on Frame

Remember! Composite frame is extra protection! It will protect you more then any other trike frame out there !!!

Required Test of Weight Holding 4000 lbs weight suspended by the 4 attachment points. The rules say it has to hold for 3 seconds,

Our Test: 4000 Lb. Weight  left it there for over an hour. DFS Dual.  (3000 Lb. DFS Single)

Results: No structural failure, no band tubes, no deformation on Fiberglass/Kevlar main frame, no deformation on hole openings for the bolts! Nada!

Required Drop Test Measuring for 18" above ground with 900 Lb..

Our Test DFS Single : 600 Lb. (THIS IS APPROXIMATELY THE WEIGHT OF A HARLEY DAVIDSON SOFTAIL MOTORCYCLE) FROM  30" above  ground on the DFS Single without any sock absorbers help! This equivalent to approximately 1200+ Lb. at 20" above ground due to GRAVITY ACCELERATION! Test Clip

Results: No structural failure, no band tubes, no deformation on Fiberglass/Kevlar main frame, no deformation on hole openings for the bolts! Nada!

Our Test DFS Dual : 1000 Lb. (THIS IS APPROXIMATELY THE WEIGHT OF TWO  HARLEY DAVIDSON SPORTSTER MOTORCYCLES ) FROM  30" above  ground.  This equivalent to approximately 2000+ Lb. at 20" above ground due to GRAVITY ACCELERATION!

Results: No structural failure, no band tubes, no deformation on Fiberglass/Kevlar main frame, no deformation on hole openings for the bolts! Nada!

25 MPH Impact test We have also completed some impact testing for extra protection of  pilots! Our frame made it fine on our 25 MPH impact test with just some scratches on the nose and the front wheel system. Look our main body, is made for this extra protection!

Testing on Glider and Chute

Negative and Positive testing on all NW gliders

Power Wing Certification

The Power Wing Static Load TestThe Apco Powerwing is the only PPC wing available on the market today wich is approved by world aviation standards.

Apco's Powerwing was tested by ACPULS (AFNOR) in France, and passed both the shock and static strenght load tests!

Click here to view theCertificate from Afnor, or view the Load Test Graphwith this link.

About the Sport Pilot Rule?

The rule specifies five categories of aircraft that can be operated within the performance limitations of the rule: airplanes, weight-shift aircraft, powered parachutes, gliders, and lighter than air. We are encouraged that gyroplanes will also be included, which will make six categories of aircraft allowed to operate under this rule........

YES ! Our Aircraft are in the EAA qualification list........(read trikes in the US)

Our Aircraft build at or above ASTM Standards!

ASTM Intl. standards are used around the world for everything from product design and development to accessing markets. The high quality of these documents makes them the preferred choice of many industries across the globe!
